Rare and superb imposing vase, in hand-blown glassware, from Empoli, Italy, vintage 40s-50s. Clear, transparent bottle-green color. Etruscan style, amphora-shaped, flared and raised circular foot, large round body, high wide trumpet-shaped neck, fitted with 2 elegant, rounded handles. A very unusual piece due to its unusual size, very decorative. 40cm high, approx. 22-23cm diameter/maximum width, 13cm neck opening diameter. Very good overall condition, with a few discreet signs of age, notably small surface scratches. A manufacturing defect at the high base of one of the handles, possibly a burst bubble. A few grains and bubbles in the glass, naturally. Approx. 4kg.
