Wonderful and extremely rare Vitra Tandem Sling airport bench / bench seat in leather, most expensive version, normal production was artificial leather by Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller. This bench was designed in 1962 by the US designer couple on behalf of Eero Saarinen for the first international airports. The bench shown is from the Dubai airport, therefore also produced in the special color red and in original leather.
The three-seater bench has a chrome-plated die-cast aluminum frame and a storage table. The seats are upholstered in leather.
The seat is in very good condition, the chrome is immaculate (no chipping) and the leather (most expensive version/ standard was artificial leather!) is very soft, no tears or holes.
