Oak table, 160x80x76, fully hand planed with japanese planes and finished with oil and wax from Kreidezeit. It took 2 months for completion.
This table is the first object where I used proportions as an idea.
For example, the space between legs, apron and ground makes a square, 1-1 ratio (610 mm). The top is very thin, just 2 cm, which makes it look and feel lightweight, like a petal, but plenty strong without unnecessary material. Legs are elegant, and taper half to the bottom, to save physical and visual weight. They are in sync with the top in that sense. But don't be fooled, it is not wobbly, since wide apron with wide mortise and tenon joints makes the whole construction very rigid and stable in horizontal x-y axis. Apron width is not only functional, but it has visual task as well: its wide surface visually balances the thin table top and legs.
