This elegant daybed was designed by Gianni Songia for Sormani in 1963. It was made in Italy and impresses with the harmonious combination of fine Wood and black Leather.
As a pioneer of the Italian furniture industry, Luigi Sormani founded the Sormani company in 1961, which early on relied on modern production methods and innovative materials such as Rio rosewood, lacquered Wood, Plastic and Aluminium . At the 1961 Milan Furniture Fair, Sormani presented his first collection, the modular cabinet system Fleeting by Studio ABC. In the 1960s and 1970s, the company experimented with thermoformed and extruded aluminum parts. Luigi Sormani worked with well-known designers such as Joe Colombo, Gio Ponti and many others. In the 1980s, Sormani expanded internationally and successfully implemented projects in various areas. After Luigi Sormani's death in 1982, he continued to run the company and increased international contract work. Luigi Sormani died in 2017 at the age of 84. His daughter Gloria continued the legacy, restored important pieces and reorganized the archive.
