Product description
Unique hand-patterned glass artwork in bright red and with a beautiful pattern on the back. Diameter: 31cm, height 4.5cm. Renowned glass artists Philip Baldwin and Monica Guggisberg designed and produced this piece in 1996 in Germany. The prototype was blown by them and cut by Paolo Ferro on Murano, when they were still cutting glass on Murano. Today they do it all in their studio in Wales. The glass artwork was very well received and has become something of a collector's item. The artists themselves own one. So it is unique that this one is now coming on the market. The artists started in Nonfoux in 1982, strongly influenced by the Scandinavian tradition of glass and design in general - a tradition in which form and function occupy a leading position, or at least an equal position to any idea of beauty. Simplicity of form and freshness of expression formed the ideas with which they experimented. These works Nonfoux collection (1982-1997) represent studio designs through the years, and although they stopped producing this body of work in 1997, they continue to place the same high value on it as always.
