Product description
Original aluminum roof plate from the ATOMIUM, the futuristic and monumental world-famous building in Brussels and the symbol of the 1958 World's Fair. The plate is triangular and slightly curved. The original roof plates were replaced by new plates in stainless steel in 2005. To give this roofing plate a useful purpose, it was mounted on a vertical stainless steel tubular construction fitted with rotating cylinders and thus became useful as a rotating 'Wind vane'. And it works very well and precisely. The plate thus became an original and useful eye-catcher in the garden. The whole is mounted in a wooden flower box which is loaded with loose weights to ensure stability in strong winds. The plate is in good condition, but after 66 years it shows signs of aging. The planter is in need of replacement. The plate is removable from the structure for transport. Dimensions: 240 x 180 x 140 cm The plate has a certificate of authenticity with a serial number 795/1000. For more shine, the plate can always be polished. To be picked up in Menen / Belgium.
Plate shows signs of aging with some scratches and pitting but are not distracting. Visible in the photos.
