Product description
Beautiful composite set of 6 different Thonet and other bentwood chairs. Well known brand labels, including from Thonet, J&J Kohn and Mundus. Thonet was the inventor (1859) of the so-called bentwood, the method of steaming and deforming beech wood using metal molds. This created for the first time the possibility of permanently bending wood, and creating the now famous elegant furniture shapes. The chairs were made in the first quarter of the 20th century. Of course, traces of use give a beautiful patina. The chairs differ slightly in sizes and colors, but all have a good, usual seat height of 46-47 cm. The chairs are in Groningen. You are welcome to come by, or have them delivered via Whoppah.
The seats were cleaned and checked and waxed. Where necessary, screws have been tightened and/or replaced. Construction completely solid and stable on all six the chairs. They are ready for use!
