In 2001, B&B Italia challenged Vincent Van Duysen to design a furniture collection. Perhaps because he is an architect and not a true furniture designer, Vincent Van Duysen decided that the objects of his design should not be a drastic reinvention. Instead of setting a new standard, the collection shows an interpretation of the classics.
The rotating base of each chair increases comfort and communicative quality. By gradually thinning the back and oversizing the width of the chair, the addition of armrests is unnecessary and the chair has a different kind of comfort.
Although the chairs have a contemporary design, the simplicity of the design and the variety of materials make them flexible in use and environment.
