Solingen does not define a type of steel, but the geographical origin. It is a German city, whose history as a metallurgical producer dates back to the 14th century, thanks to the specialization of artisans in the production of knives and swords, and ended up becoming a world leader in the manufacture of cutlery. In 1938 the German government enacted a law to protect and recognize the name of Solingen and thus preserve its identity. The Solingen seal is a guarantee of trust and quality.
