The worshipper Moggallana, known as Kolita, kneels on a stepped mound with double rows of lotiform friezes, hands clasped in anjali mudra, a posture of adoration before the Buddha, dressed in a richly embroidered monastic robe studded with mirrored inclusions. His youthful face expresses profound serenity.
Lacquered and gilded bronze. Thailand. Kingdom of Rattanakosin, late 19th century.
