Product description
This modernist swivel chair was manufactured by Selig Imperial in Sweden in the 1970s. The chair is made of black natural leather. The base is a chrome star-shaped base covered with brown veneer. The back cushions are loosely attached by a string. The closing shape of the chair references the famous Egg Chair, which is an icon of mid-century modern design. The chair is very comfortable, and thanks to its interesting design, it will be perfect for many arrangements, being an original element of interior design.Selig was founded by Mendell Selig and Samuel Wexler in Gardner, Massachusetts, USA in 1931. In the 1950s, the company grew to become one of the leading American importers and manufacturers of contemporary furniture. The company focused on high-end designs made in Denmark and other Scandinavian countries. Their offering consisted of the simple and elegant forms typical of post-war Danish design. Selig is responsible for introducing many Scandinavian designers to the American public and popularizing the modern, forward-looking interior style that became prevalent in the United States in the post-war era.
