Great Bouddah Maravijaya, Burma (Myanmar), late 19th century.
The Enlightened One is depicted in vajrasana on his double lotiform base, hands in bhumisparsha mudra.
Carved wood, red lacquer and gilding.
Wear marks and missing parts, concentrated on the lower part of the base.
Provenance: Personal collection of art dealer Claude de Marteau.
This piece was displayed in his office.
Sold with certificate of provenance.
