Product description
One of only 40 ever produced. The Diapason Desk in stainless steel by Marzio Cecchi for Studio Most Firenze, 1970s. Its sleek design features a cantilevered tapering top with a curved edge, complemented by a unique circular cut-out base, ideal for comfortably resting your feet. The desk is constructed from thick stainless steel and fully enclosed, making it a striking piece of functional art. The desk serves multiple purposes: it can function as a traditional desk, a console, or even as a shop counter. Its versatility and iconic status make it one of Marzio Cecchi’s most recognized designs. Cecchi, a visionary of Italian design, was known for his groundbreaking, avant-garde creations that significantly influenced the design world. We have chosen to keep the original patina intact, instead of polishing the desk to show its originality and how it aged beautifully. The desk could easily be polished back to its original state when wished for. About Marzio Cecchi Born on March 1, 1940, in Florence, Italy, Marzio Cecchi was raised in a designers environment, with his mother, Giulia Carla Cecchi, being a famous name in the world of haute couture fashion. Cecchi himself became a celebrated architect, designer, and artist after graduating from the University of Florence with a degree in architecture. He was known for his eclectic and innovative designs that pushed the boundaries of Italian modernism. Tragically, Cecchi passed away in New York on January 1, 1990, but his timeless creations live on, highly sought after by collectors worldwide. This desk stands as a testament to Cecchi’s legacy, a rare collector’s item that brings a touch of 1970s Italian modernism to any space.

Normal wear and patina due to age and usage.
