The Bumper Table is the crowning achievement of Martin Visser's work. Only a dozen were made in the 1960s. In the 1990s about 4 to 6 more were produced. The reason for the very limited production is that the chromed steel base originally had to be driven manually and an industrially produced new edition proved unfeasible. Too bad for the design lover because the table is a jewel, due to the beautiful shape of the foot and should actually be seen as a work of art rather than just a table leg. The chromed steel base has the hugely admired symmetrical shape and is also reversible. This has become a signature element of Martin Visser and is a piece of design history. The limited edition indicates the rarity of this object and will certainly not lose any of its significance in the future. This offered Bumper Table is in more than excellent condition. The Bumper Table is immediately available and can be picked up in the eastern part of the Netherlands for the passionate collector of truly beautiful and unique items. The table is also pictured on the cover of the book about the oeuvre prize Martin Visser received in 1998. The original invoice from Spectrum is available upon request.
