Product description
An eye-catching, cone shaped table lamp model “Cirano”, is an original vintage piece by Angelo Brotto, manufactured by Esperia in Italy around 1980.
This lamp is made of exceptional quality Murano glass, clear and white glas combined in a beautiful smooth pattern. The rounded cone shape that the glass is molded into, provides a beautiful luxurious style. Especially when lit, this lamp is a true stunner! The structure of the glass diffuses the light outstandingly, and allows a bright yet warm light to emit. The lamp is held by a round metal foot. These impressive lamps were purchased by us directly from Esperia for an exclusive exhibition. They have only been used as museum pieces by Esperia in Italy and are no longer in production. Each lamp comes with a signed proof of authenticity from the manufacturer. We have several in stock, sold individually.
The lamps remain in excellent, unused condition.
Angelo Brotto (1914-2002) was an Italian designer and artist from Venice. He is mostly known for his work as a lamp designer and glassworker (often combined) as we are showing in our gallery in the heart of Amsterdam. In 1941, after graduating the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice, ithe Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs commissioned Brotto to paint frescoes in nearby country Montenegro. This was the start of an exceptional career in art and design! He won many awards, including awards including the very first Exhibition of Engravings in Rome. In the 1960s, a fruitful collaboration started: Brotto together with glass company Esperia, where many iconic art and lighting was designed with the use of Murano glass.
